Description

This complete tent package includes: tent (1 pc), centre pole (1 pc), corner poles (8 pcs) and stakes (8 pcs) and transport bags for the tent, pole set and stake set. Extra accessories such as groundsheet and stove are sold separately.

Our field camp tents are made for hard, all-year use in our Nordic climate, we have been making military tents for the Finnish Defence Forces since the 1960’s. In military use field camp tents need to be reliable, easy to transport and use (in the dark, in the rain, in deep freezing snow) and repairable in the field if necessary. As very user-friendly and reliable these are also great for all sorts of professional and recreational use.

The tent is an eight-corner design with a single centre pole. Guy ropes run from the tops of the corners and are staked to the ground. The three-part centre pole breaks down for transport and is adjustable with 5 cm increments for use on uneven ground.

The entrance is double layered with separate outer and inner curtain doors. The outer curtain doors can be closed using webbing loops and toggle buckles. Both the inner and outer curtain doors can be rolled and tied up to keep the entrance completely open. The inside edges of the entrance is lined with loop for attaching a mosquito net piece.

Three webbing loops per corner-to-top seam allow attachment of drying lines or poles and small items such as lanterns. Each seam has three loops, one attached to the top reinforcement of the tent, one in the middle along the seam and one to the corner reinforcement.

The skirt should always be pulled inside the tent to prevent it from freezing to the ground in cold weather. When used with a groundsheet the tent gets a clean and completely waterproof floor for added user comfort.

The roof of the tent has an opening for a stove chimney. Each tent comes with a sealed stove jack cover (to cover the opening when the tent is used without a stove) and a steel stove jack piece with a 100 mm internal diameter for use with stove pipes up to 90 mm in diameter. The stove jack and stove jack cover are attached to the outside of the tent roof using hook-and-loop and cord loops and toggles.

A roof ventilation opening is located at the opposite side of the roof from the stove pipe port. This is a simple opening in the roof, covered by a supported overhanging arch piece. The ventilation opening is lined with loop for attaching a mosquito net piece.

Real life use cases

Throughout the decades our field camp tents have gained a solid reputation here in our native Finland. Here these are commonly used by hunting parties, film crews, scout groups, outdoor event organizers and of course just for plain fun camping. Although not suitable for on-foot carry for long distances these are still very much portable and easy to transport by car, quad, snowmobile, or ahkio.

Although originally designed for military use, and sized accordingly, these are of course suited for a lot of different use cases. These are great, reliable partners when you need a warm, dry and clean working space and shelter for a larger group of people. With less than the maximum occupancy you have more room for comfort.

The lower variants (10-200 and 20-250) are best suited for accommodation use. The taller variants (10-230 and 20-320) are perfect when you need a comfortable space to work, you can even fit a bunch of chairs and tables inside.

User manual – read before use!

Read the user manual before use, follow the instructions and warnings of the user manual when operating the tent. A printed user manual is supplied with the tent. The manual can also be downloaded as a PDF here.
