Savotta backpacks are primarily made from heavy-duty Cordura® nylon fabric. The main body typically being 1000D and back pads and roll top closures being lighter 500D. The fabric also features polyurethane coating for water resistance. Shoulder straps, PALS attachment points and compression straps are strong 100% polyester webbing. Steel and acetal are used for components like hooks and buckles, ensuring ruggedness and repairability.


All materials chosen are aimed at long life and heavy use outdoors or in demanding settings.

Our products are made in our own facilities in Finland and Estonia. Due to the ever-increasing demand some of our manufacturing is done by subcontractors, the select few subcontractors we use are based in Finland, Estonia and Poland. Savotta backpacks are water resistant but not fully waterproof. While the materials are waterproof, the seams and closure aren’t entirely sealed.
