Glow-in-the-dark five part patch kit for creating various markings for identification in low light conditions.
These are made using a pretty high quality photoluminescent material, the same stuff that we have been using in various military applications for a few decades. This stuff is fairly effective and has a very long service life. We checked out some 10+ years old material we had in stock, it performed with roughly 90% the same efficiency as its brand new counterpart.
Since the material itself has a very long service life we decided to not just rely on lamination/gluing to keep the photoluminescent material attached to the hook tape. Thus these are also sewn to give them the longest possible service life. This adds significantly to the manufacturing costs, but now we can be sure these won’t delaminate after a few winter/summer cycles of use.

Good quality. Patches keep glowing for a long while after light exposure during a day just laying around the room. I think I'll get one more set of these.
Hard for me to give a 3 star.
I love each item I've purchased from Savotta. Each are rugged and high quality that I expect to last and be worth repairing if I mistreated it enough.
But I was surprised to find that the glow patch I'd brought last month was torn after a 2 day hike. My other woven patches are fine and the worst it would have experienced was dropping onto dewy grass.
Perhaps an adhesive would protect the edge more but I'm disappointed nonetheless.

I second Daniel L.s review about this product 100 %. Love it, albeit not rally useful with much more than decoration.
A reflective version would be an immediate buy.
Not really useful for the civilian consumer. Cool to have and is obviously well made. I think a reflective version in the same high quality for cyclists would do well. I’d buy one immediately. It attaches high up on the back and is thus easily visible in traffic. More Velcro on the outside of backpacks would make small backpacks high visibility safety wear in traffic.
A little disappointed by the patches.
They're not as luminous as those from other brands.
Also, I thought they'd hold well on the Kahakka's Velcro, but I lost the biggest match the first time I used them during transport in a vehicle.

Sorry to hear that the patches didn’t meet your expectations! The glow intensity depends on the amount of light they absorb before use, so charging them well under a strong light source can help. As for the Velcro, when properly pressed on, it should hold very securely, even through rough use.
