FULL PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
A feature-rich helmet cover with proper camouflage attachment cordage all over. Designed around the common Ops Core FAST XP high cut helmet shell geometry, but fits many other high cut helmets too.
The world is full of covers for high cut helmets, but since 99% of these offer no real way of properly camouflaging the helmet with foliage etc. we decided to throw our offering out there too. Made from 500D Cordura instead of regular clothing fabric to provide high wear resistance.
Unlike most high cut helmet covers, which only have that zig-zag cordage on the top, our cover features attachment points for elastic cordage all around the helmet shell. This actually allows you to camouflage your helmet properly with foliage and stuff. Since the elastic cordage is not sewn to the cover you can opt not to use it at all, or to tweak/replace it as needed.
The rear top of the cover features a length of 25 mm webbing, bartacked to form attachment points for IR strobes etc. Then we have the standard bits of loop on the sides, top and rear for identifiers, patches, cameras, counterweight pouches etc.
The cover attaches to pieces of hook on the inside of the helmet shell via six pieces of one-wrap. If your particular helmet doesn’t have bits of hook exactly where it needs to be: that’s why we include a 50 x 150 mm piece of adhesive hook with each cover! Cut and stick it where you need it.
Sizing, fit and compatibility
These are sized according to Ops-Core FAST helmet sizes. An L size cover will fit a L size helmet, an XL size cover an XL size shell. At the moment we are not offering M or XXL size covers, but L size covers will fit M size shells (and XL size covers will also fit L size shells) with the elastic cord offering a sort of size adjustment system.
Remember that each cover comes with a piece of adhesive hook tape, use this to create suitable attachment points inside your helmet for the attachment straps! The elastic cord that wraps around the helmet allow you to tighten and shape the cover to better fit the contours of helmet shells of various shapes and dimensions.
Besides the perfect match, the Ops-Core FAST XP, we have also tested the fit on a number of other common helmet designs:
- PGD ARCH Gen 3 (very high cut with rails pretty high up): fits nicely after tightening the elastic cord
- Ops-Core FAST SF (super high cut): fits nicely after some adjusting
- UaRms TOR-D (a bit thicker shell than Ops-Core): fits really nicely
- Galvion Caiman ballistic (quite a different shape): fits pretty nicely after some adjusting
