Split-bar buckles are widely used as quick field repair buckles, but these can also be used to modify your gear by adding quick attachment points for male side release buckles.

What is really nice about these is that they are compatible with 25 mm ITW Classic series side release buckles, which we have used for years on all our Jääkäri backpacks etc. This means you can take the side compression strap of any Jääkäri backpack and clip it onto one of these, nice.
